Twenty percent of the world’s remaining natural lands could be developed by the middle of this century. If development is carried out poorly, we will drastically change the lives of communities — and could lose clean water, iconic plants, animals, savannahs and forests.

We need to take a bigger picture approach to our development choices so that we not only protect but enhance entire landscapes and maximize natural carbon stores.
