The Scher Sustainability Forum: Private-Public Financing for Global Sustainability

A Note From Our Global Leader

Meeting the global commitments to address climate change will take billions, if not trillions, of dollars. It is imperative that the full international community invests significantly in the essential, yet undervalued role of nature to achieve a healthy, prosperous and resilient world.

On May 18, 2016, I had the pleasure of participating in a stimulating discussion hosted by the Scher Sustainability Forum and The Center for Environmental Policy at American University's School of Public Affairs focused on how to scale up the level of investment in sustainability and the private sector’s role in promoting a national and global sustainability transition.

I encourage you to watch the discussion to hear how innovative finance and policy mechanisms can unlock the power of nature to cool and clean our air, filter our water and protect our coastlines, as well as protect our biodiversity and communities everywhere.
